Claire is getting so big and we are wondering where the time has gone? At her 8 month check up she weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs! She is finally back in the middle of the pack for both height (27") and weight (18lbs). Head circumference was 44.5 cm. It was a sad day at daycare last week when they informed me Claire had been moved to the big kid side of infant room. That is hard for me to believe. Now when I go pick her up she is sitting up playing with the other kids. She gets soooooooo excited when Dan or I show up in the afternoon. Her little legs go a mile and minute and she smiles ear to ear. That makes my day!
Claire loves to eat and isn't so picky anymore. She loves her yogurt and cheese and pretty much any vegetable that we make for her - sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, parnsips, turnips, leeks, corn. We also make some fruits - mango, apple, pear and the other Gerber fruits we buy. She is NOT a fan of Tofu, but at least we tried. We are also starting to give her a little of whatever we are eating for dinner, she loves to feed herself. Starting this week we dropped down to only 3 bottles a day which she is fine with. She does not like the sippy cup - we have tried a couple different ones with water, juice, formula, and nothing seems to work. We will keep trying!
Developmentally, Claire just recently became mobile on the floor. No crawling yet, but she moves around in circles on her stomach and can push herself backwards on the hardwood floor. I don't think it will be long before she is off crawling. She isn't too interested in walking and has yet to pull herself up on anything, but she does stand if you support her a little. Still no teeth, but I don't think it will be long (haven't I been saying that for months?). I didn't get teeth until I was 1 so maybe she is taking after me. Grandma S and Grumpy - when did Dan get teeth?
We are looking forward to ALOT of travel in the coming weeks. We are headed to Cleveland for Easter and we are excited for Claire to meet her Great Grandparents and Dans other relatives. Not so excited that her first baseball game with be an Indians game (J/K). Enough rambling - maybe this makes up for the lack of posts over the last 6 weeks.Add a comment:

At 9 mos, Dan was 22 lbs, 11 oz and 2 ft, 6 1/2 in tall. First tooth was 10/1/81 and he had 5 teeth by the end of October 81 (5 mos). The baby book we have says to expect the 1st tooth around 7 1/2 mos. so it won't be long now and she is taking after you. Her weight and height look like Dan's though. His first steps were 3/6/82 or 9+ mos. He started climbing stairs that month too. I guess we need to get his baby book to you. Funny stuff in there!!!
