Can December just be over already?? I know that sounds bad, but it has been crazy for us. With Claire being sick and then getting better, we thought we were on the road to recovery. We bought and decorated the Christmas tree which is always fun and we were looking forward to our trip to South Carolina. Last Tuesday, I worked a normal day and started to not feel good around 2 in the afternoon. After I got home from work, I layed down for a nap and set my alarm to pick up Claire. After waking up 3 times in my 1 hour "nap", I quickly realized there was no way I was able to walk to daycare and pick her up because I had the flu. Gotta love it! I called Dan and told him he needed to leave work in time to pick Claire up by 6:30 and I called daycare to let them know it was OK to give her a bottle if she got hungry. So, Mommy was sick as a dog, Dad was playing Supermom and Claire was enjoying her first bottle of formula :-( I was home sick on Wednesday and I can't remember the last time I slept so much!! By Wednesday night I at least felt like a human being again and decided to take one more day to "rest". We had a 9PM flight Thursday night which was cancelled by 10AM Thursday morning. Continental was able to rebook us on an earlier flight but that meant I had to drag my sick butt around packing in a rush (and you know the ONLY thing I forgot was my ever important nursing cover??. The flight went well and we had a great time in SC. I wasn't feeling great the whole time we were down there, but I was much better! The flight home was loooong after a lot of delays but Claire was behaving so I was happy. Sunday night Dan started to not feel good and he has been home sick yesterday and again today. Let's hope this all passes before Christmas and Claire does not catch what we both had. I will add pictures from our trip soon. As soon as I get our suitcases unpacked, the overflowing laundry done, did you want a Christmas card?? I guess that is also on my to-do list. And how about STARTING Christmas shopping?? You get the point!! Is it January 10th yet -I would really like to be on the beach with a margarita in hand.

I guess everyone should also know that Claire does not like green beans or peas, but she LOVES her orange veggies! She has been a big fan of carrots, then squash, and now sweet potatoes!

Meg from MD:  OMG.....I never knew you could write so much! 1st off I thought you told me last week your shopping was done. 2nd I am glad you made the flight and got to SC safe and had some fun. 3rd I hope Dan feels better and Claire does not catch anything this time around.

Try this stuff called EMERGEN-C it is great and works! You pour the powder in water and it disolves. Target & Walmart carry it.

Hope the Dan Snider family is feeling better soon. In one week it will be Xmas Eve. I am leaving this message a few minutes til mid-night. I am up now a lot til 2am doing all the items around the house and wedding planning checklist review.

P.S. I WANT MY CHRISTMAS CARD!

I finally added new pictures for everyone to enjoy! You will see Claires nebulizer in the December pictures. After 2 days she began to not mind the treatments and would try to play with the mask. Luckily she got cleared on Friday and no more treatments. She is feeling much better. So much so that we continued our quest toward real food. Last night we tried carrots and she LOVED them. She ate half the container yesterday and an entire container at daycare today!! We are saving the sweet potatoes for Grandma S!

That's about it for now. We are off to SC on Thursday and Claire is super excited to see Grandma, Grumpy, and company.

    Enjoy the pictures...

Crazy, crazy!! There has been so much going on and I have not been good about updating the page. Claire enjoyed her first Thanksgiving and we celebrated by introducing her to her first real food - green beans! And she are it ate the table with the big kids. And by eat I mean choked down a few bites before realizing that she absolutely hates it, and then spitting the rest out. We tried again the next day and got the same results - maybe she will enjoy them better in round 2. We will probably try peas this week.

Claire also had her Baptism on Saturday. It was the perfect day and Claire was pretty well behaved for the ceremony and took a nice long nap back at the house. We could tell she was starting not to feel well and it only got worse through Sunday. I called the doctor and moved her well visit up from Wed to Mon and I am glad I did. She has a nasty chest cold and cough. The doctor gave us a nebulizer with some medication to be administered 4 times a day through Friday. Let's just say the worst 20 minutes of Dan & I's day is spent giving her the treatments. She does not enjoy them, but they sure make her feel better.

We head back to the doctor on Friday to follow up with the treatments and again next Wednesday for her well visit. When they weighed her yesterday she was 11lb 6 oz and 25 inches long - growing slowly but surely!!

Thanks for checking in with us. I will try to get some pictures up soon and of course updates on how Claire is feeling.
